What Is The Remedy For Hair Fall?

I had typhoid fever 2 months ago. And after i got better i am a victim to hairfall. My hair are breaking roots and i have lost almost half of my hair and i am very worried about it. Can you please help by telling how to stop this hairfall and reboost mu hair growth

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Hair fall after typhoid or any other major illness or stress is very common. Its called telogen effluvium. Its due to the fact that body needs protein during recovery from a illness and if the protein intake is not adequate it breaks down hair protein and thus leads to hair fall.

I normally advice my patients that this phase would last for 2-3 months in total.

Its advisable to have a good diet during the recovery phase of illness like typhoid. The diet should be wholesome and especially rich in proteins to replenish the body needs during recovery phase.. so that hair protein is spared and hair can go back to the normal growing phase.

An oral biotin supplement also helps somewhat.
