What Is The Remedy For Increased Pain After Reducing The Dosage Of Kadien With History Of Being On Morphine?
Hi my name is don and I have been taking kadien for about 4 years, before that it was morphine for about 10 year and on and off for authorities from 1969. am 63 my doctor is all of a sudden treating me like a vet experimenting on me so low on meds that all I think about anymore is pain. what can I do
Hi Don, Welcome to health care magic. Kadian is a slow release morphine sulphate preparation. You are already taking this for years probably with a different brand name. If you are not having sufficient relief of pain then you can request your doctor to increase the doses of morphine or the frequency of the drug. I don't think your doctor is at all interested to treat you like a vet rather he may be trying to reduce your drug because morphine on long term use may cause many side effects and clinicians are worried of this type of problems. So you should approach your clinician and tell your partially controlled pain is a problem for you rather than avoiding behaviour. Take care.
