Our six month old son has had a runny nose for week. Now he has a stuffy nose, fever of 101 and a very deep junky cough that sometimes sounds uncontrollable. Fussy. He is current on vaccination, and has had one of the two flu shots. What can I do to help improve cough? It's been three days and he's not sleeping well because of it either.

hi there
the best this you can do is get him some nasal drops for him
the nasal drops will open his clogged nose, so he might feel better

as for fever, start on paracetamol drops as per body weight

i would suggest meeting a pediatrician
to make sure he gets adequate cover of antibiotics

try steam inhalation. you will have to do it holding the child. but be very careful of steam. the baby has a sensitive skin

best of luck
