What Is The Remedy For Scabies In The Folds Of The Buttocks?
Hello, I was wanting some advice as my 11 year old son has been treated for scabies several times now and we are treating a current new batch at the moment.
Our last visit to our G.P confirmed it is indeed scabies, and we were told to bathe in pinetarsol solution which we are doing twice daily.
I have also used Malathion Lotion as well as washing all bedding, clothing etc.
My son is very sore and had panadol to ease the pain. The sores are red and weeping so I have put dettol antiseptic cream on them when he got out of the bath and bandaged his arm around the elbow to avoid scratching.
I am concerned about his buttocks area as they are particularly bad in the folds of the buttocks and very painful.
Am I doing the right thing by covering them so he cant scratch them ?? Please help ...???

Thanks for the query,
scabies is quiet common infection an child hood.
It will be better to give an application of permethrin.
Also give an anti histamine tablet.
This will control the itch.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
And get the medication prescribed.
