What Is The Remedy For The Squishy Bump That Has Been Formed In The Child After Hitting Head?

My 2 yr old fell and hit his head last night on what I would call the "top left corner", got a big goose egg and was really pale. Today the large area is all mushy...his behavior is normal but the "squishyness" worries me. Should I have him seen at the Dr tomorrow?

Hi

Usually after any head injury, if there are no symptoms such as vomiting/ loss of consciousness/ ear nose bleed etc, there is no need to worry.

You may give cold compresses over the swelling.

Usually its a blue lump that will be seen, that changes colour slowly as it regresses. The consistency should not be an issue.

Just observe for the symptoms mentioned above. If he is fine, active and playful as before, nothing to worry.

Simple Paracetamol will take care of the pain.

Hope I have answered your query.
Best wishes.
