What Is The Replacement For Klonopin?

hello i need to find a way to taper down my use of klonopin i have been on 1mg. 2x per day for 23 years the doctor who was writing my monthly prescription has been shut down from writing any prescriptions of controlled substances. i have been to the emergency room twice. i have called everywhere i can think of with no results. would you have any suggestions thank you.

Cannot say in your particular case. 1 mg twice a day is a low average dose. Psychological effects from stopping it are likely. Seizures from it might occur, but are not at all likley. Elevated pulse is one fo the first signs of benzodiazepine withdrawal. The scary withdrawal symptoms almost always occur within the first week after stopping klonopin if they are going to happen.
Whether to even do a taper depends on a lot of individual factors that I couldn't comment on. But it often is NOT done. Sometimes people are kept for observation up to 3 days due to benzodiazepine withdrawal but usuallyt they ahve to have some sign of withdrawal (at least elevated pulse).
