Hello,
For an 80-year-old with a known sub serosal fibroid and mild off-and-on pain, you’ll want to keep pain control very gentle and kidney-safe. At her age, Tylenol (
paracetamol /
acetaminophen) is the safest first option — 500 mg to 650 mg every 6–8 hours as needed, not exceeding 3 g per day. It’s easy on the stomach, kidneys, and heart.
Avoid Advil (
ibuprofen) or Aleve (
naproxen) unless her doctor specifically approves — these NSAIDs can irritate the stomach and worsen kidney function or blood pressure in elderly patients, especially if she’s on heart medicines or blood thinners.
Chymoral forte and Meftal-Spas aren’t really needed for this kind of dull, intermittent fibroid pain — they work better for inflammatory or crampy pain in younger women.
Since her pain is mild and she’s active, just stick to Tylenol when needed, gentle heat over the lower abdomen, and light stretching. Also repeat an
ultrasound once a year just to make sure the fibroid hasn’t grown or changed.
If the pain ever becomes constant, causes
bloating, or bleeding starts again, then a review with a gynecologist is important. Otherwise, paracetamol as-needed is perfectly fine. Share her kidney function and any heart medicines she’s on with her doctor — that will help decide if even low-dose NSAIDs could be occasionally safe or not.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
