What Is The Solution For Pain After Falling Hard On New Knee Replacement?

What should I do after falling hard on my new knee replacement. It feels funny and tight right across the middle of the knee. I can walk and climb stairs but it hurts. I had the arthoplasty done in June and I fell at the end of October. I am 63 years old and female. EB

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to the fall. I suggest to do an X-ray to exclude a fracture. Meanwhile, I suggest using painkillers such as Ibuprofen to relieve the pain. I also suggest to maintain the leg immobilized.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
