Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been burping and feel full since I ate breakfast this morning felt fine till then I had smoked sasuage and toast didn t eat much for lunch a little broth I did eat some tums which seemed to help but still burping once and a while and feel better after I do is their anything I can take for this?
Burping is always secondary to some internal problems like hiatal hernia, GERD or external problems like the foods and aerated beverages that give more gas in stomach.
Stress and anxiety are one of the most common causes as one has aerophagia during such duration and thus there is extra gas in stomach that comes out as burping.
I would advise you the following in such a situation: First of all control the stress and anxiety if you have. No aerated drinks at all. Avoid foods that are know to produce gases such as any sort of nuts. Take a PPI like Omeprazole and Domperidone to control burping. Take rest.
If the problem persists then go for further clinical evaluation, examination by a Gastroenterologist and then you may needs special investigations to find the cause and get treated accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards
Dr. T Chandrakant,
