What Is The Tonsillectomy Surgery Recovery Period?

hi my 3yr old daughter had a tonsilectamy and adenoids out last friday and she is still feeling and looking really rotten, is this normal? what is the recovery period? she seems to have also developed a chesty cough but i'm not sure if it could just be mucus at the back of her throat. thanks

Hi.
This is not at all normal the small children have very less recovery period after removal of adenoids and Pharyngeal tonsils and it is without cough.
There looks to be a problem of infection or some other complication,
You should consult the operating surgeon or ER.
I would advise an admission, observation , intravenous fluids and antibiotics.

Chesty cough can produce more complications and is not good for healing .
