Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother law aged 63 is suffering from RA. She has been under treatment for one year, but the kneee pain and other problems still persists. Latest blood report are :
CRP = 52.3 mg / L
RA = 66.7 1u/ml
E.S. = 35m / hr
Will please recommend suitable pain killer and other medicines to be taken.
I have studied your case with diligence. Rheumatoid arthritis may involve small joints and early morning stiffness in joints. All her blood markers are raised.
Taking only painkiller will not solve the problem. I can help you better if you post x ray reports to me.
Also you can take dose of methotrexate. I will advise dose 7.5mg weekly. You can start combination consulting your treating doctor.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. You can ask further query directly on my profile http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-vaibhav-gandhi/63503

Suitable analgesic for such patients is tramadol.I treat my rheumatoid arthritis patients by disease modifying drugs such as methotrexate along with analgesics but such drugs are to be taken under strict supervision of physician because time to time dose monitoring is required.You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.I do hope that you have found something helpful.If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us.
