Hello,
Welcome and thank you for using HCM. I carefully read your query.
As you reported you are diagnosed with multinodular goitre but the information you gave about the nodules is not enough. In general when the nodules are over 1 cm in diameter and results to be cold nodules in scintiscan, the biopsy with a fine needle aspiration is recommended and if it results to be abnormal, than the surgery is recommended.
The ultrasound characteristics (the dimensions of the nodules, the vascularisation, the borders, ect.) are very important and sometimes the FNA is recommended even for nodules under 1 cm.
Another important element that guides us to surgery is the tendency of the nodule to grow.
In general there are no medications that may cure the nodules, surgery or radioactive iodine (for hot nodules in scintiscan) are the 2 ways of definite treatment.
You have to discuss with your doctor about the FNA and its sensitivity and than decide to undergo surgery or not.
Hope this information will help you somewhat.

Kind regards,
Dr.M.Guni
