What Is The Treatment For Chronic, Persistent Itch On Arm?
I have a chronic, persistent itch on my arm, lasting a month or more stops then reoccurs in a month or tow. No rash or bumps until I start scratching it. Cortisone cream does not help. Been going on, off & on for years but reoccurs more frequently in last year.
As per your case history, you are having prurigo, my treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
