My grandaughter has been sick with a cold, including congestion, headache, earache for a week. Had a fever last week but it is now gone, but now her eyes are all red and goopy. She said that they don't hurt except for watering a lot. Is this most likely just part of her cold? or another infection?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cold including congestion, headache and ear ache which is due to Eustachian tube dysfunction and chronic upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take nasal sprays and do warm saline gargles. Apply mist humidifiers in room. Put otogesic drops in ear. You should take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin for one week. Avoid pricking ear with sharp object. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray done along with otoscopic examination and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
