What Is The Treatment For Diarrhea And Lightheadedness?

have had diarrhea for a week. yesterday Dr. said it was stomach flue. passing very brown liquid 4 -5 times, especially after I get up Other symptoms include light head, minor stomach cramps, off and on/ Saw dr. yesterday and she said stomach flu. forgot to tell her that I ate frozen shrimp about a week ago, they had no taste.... Could I have food poisoning ... what to do

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of diarrhea and lightheadedness which seems to be due to electrolyte imbalance in body leading to acute gastroenteritis and food poisoning. It could be due to improper digestion and poor metabolism of body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- Drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate yourself.

- Avoid hot, sharp and spicy food.

- Get intravenous fluid administration.

- Start with combination of fluoroquinolones and ornidazole.

- You should avoid taking dairy products in excess.

- You can take banana on daily basis and light food.

Visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined and start treatment after prescription. You should get complete examination done and start treatment accordingly.
