What Is The Treatment For Exfoliative Cheilitis?

My 23 year old son has a severe case of exfoliative cheilitis. He has been to several doctors and dermatologists and nobody seems to be able to help him. He is getting quite discouraged and depressed. Can you recommend anybody in the NYC area who specializes in treating this? Or what could you recommend? He is getting desperate.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

As per your case history of Cheilitis, my treatment advice is:

1. Take good nutritious diet full of green leafy vegetables and milk.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an iron supplement and vitamin B12 supplement once daily for 3 months.

If the problem persists, then consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
