What Is The Treatment For Fever And Sore Throat?

My seven year old son has had a fever for over 24 hours, which goes done to about 99-100 after Children's Advil. Right now, it is 102.9 using an ear thermometer. During the last six hours, he has developed a sore throat, barky cough and pain when swallowing.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Your history suggests that your son is suffering from acute pharyngitis.
Warm saline gargling if possible 2-3 times daily.
Combination of Amoxycillin and Clavulanicacid twice daily is the antibiotic I usually prefer.
Paracetamol 15 mg/kg every 4-6 hourly depending on the severity of fever will help reducing pain and fever.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
Take care
