What Is The Treatment For Fever And Sweating?

I was diagnosed with Pericarditis almost two months ago and have been using NAIDS (Ibuprofen) and have been in bed rest most of the time. I m still experiencing lassitude, low level fever, sweating at night. Some days I feel back to normal only to have another wave and a repeat. How long can I expect this to go on for? Is there anything more I can do to assist in the healing of this condition? Is this condition dangerous or life threatening?
