What Is The Treatment For Hair Loss And Androgen Suppression?

hello i am 24yrs of age, weighing 54kg and my height is 5 feet...i have been having irregular menstruation , weight gain probs and hair fall and facial hair probs for the past 1 year...it could be pcos..my gynacologist adviced to take norethisterone thrice daily for three months..what shoud i do about the hair problems and androgen suppression? please help me out

Hi,

Your problems could be due to PCOS.
The treatment options include oral contraceptive pills (for regularizing your menstruation and decreasing facial hair) and anti androgens like spironolactone and finasteride (to decrease your facial hair). These medications you have to continue for a period of 6 months to 2 years.
