What Is The Treatment For Hot Flashes?

lately I have been feeling extremely exhausted tired, thirsty and I get an very overheated (almost like a hot flash but more so) sweating and then extremely cold. Wake up during the night feeling so hot just like my body is going to explode from the heat. This tingling in my hands and arms. Not sure what is going on but it is not hot flashes. I had a hysterectomy about 4 years ago and know what hot flashes feel like. This is horrible.

Hi,

Keep well-hydrated, drink ice water or apply an ice pack at the onset of a hot flash. Wear cotton or lightweight, Exercise on a regular basis. Try practising meditation or relaxation exercises to manage stress. Avoid triggers such as warm rooms, spicy foods, caffeinated beverages, and alcohol. Several medications have been shown to help with symptoms, including clonidine, low doses of certain antidepressants (such as venlafaxine and fluoxetine) and gabapentin. Thyroid function test should also be assessed since it cause non menopausal hot flashes.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
