What Is The Treatment For Hypothyroidism?

hi i suffer from hypothyroidism and last night i had an "episode" where suddenly i felt really cold, temperature outside was 30 degrees celcius but i had to wear ugg boots and woolly sweater, then my heart beat became very light barely there and i felt like i was breathing thru a straw, i felt very weak and disoriented. Does this kind of thing happen to hypothyroid patients, can it be triggered by certain food? I take my medicine daily.

Hello
I have gone through your question and understood your concern.

Your last night symptoms can be symptoms of hypothyroidism.

You mention that you take regularly your thyroid medication. This is Very good!
If you were my patient,i will ask to repeat the TSH test. This is an important test for patients that are under thyroid hormone replacement therapy and give the right information if you need dosis adjustment of levothyroxine(the thyroid medicine)

You have symptoms of hypothyroidism for this reason in my opinion your dosis of levothyroxine must be increased.
Anyway is the TSH test result that will confirm if you need dosis adjustment or not.

In my opinion it s not a food that triggered your symptoms.
The experience of symtoms of hypothyroidism is specific for each hypothyroid patient. But all the patient have cold ,weakness and even disorientation sometimes. But these symptoms disappear after the right treatement and the right dosis of thyroid hormone replacement therapy.

Hope i have answered to all your questions.
If you have other doubts, feel free and ask.
Best regards.
