What Is The Treatment For Knee Pain And Swelling After Fall?

I was diagnosed with deteoriatiing cartlidge in my right knee. And lastnight I fell during cheer on my knee and haven t been able to bend it since without excruciating pain. My whole leg is swolled from my mid thigh all the way to my toes. So bad that I can t move my toes.

Hi. Welcome to HCM. Your description suggests that your knee is badly hurt. Articular cartilage is a firm, rubbery material that covers the ends of bones in the knee joint. It reduces friction in the joint and acts as a "shock absorber." When cartilage becomes damaged or deteriorates, it limits the knee's normal movement and can cause significant pain. If damaged cartilage is not treated, it can worsen and eventually require knee replacement surgery. U told that u had a fall which might have worsened the damage and it is causing u pain and swelling. Rest your limb. Put some ice packs to reduce pain and consult a good orthopedician who is expert in knee surgeries. There are some surgeries to repair your damaged cartilage.Dont neglect and consult a doctor as soon as possible. Regards
