What Is The Treatment For Loose Bowel Movements?

Good morning, I am 43 years old, male, type two diabetic on metformin and bydurion. My bowel movement are mostly loose but when they are solid I sometime have sharp pains in the area right below the belly button. P.s. I also had my gallbladder removed in 05. What could this be?

Hello,
I can understand your concern for your symptoms.
1) Abdominal pain associated with hard stool suggest possibility of requirement of straining for defecation and/or inadequate defecation related indigestion.
2) You must take stool softener or laxative to prevent excessive straining.
3) You can also take intestinal digestive enzyme supplementation (Unienzyme) to facilitate digestion which also prevent formation of hard stools.
4) For episodes of sharp pain, you can take anti-colic group of medication (Meftalspas) to reduce pain intensity which can provide quick pain relief.

Hope I answered your query. If you have any further doubts, I would be happy to help you.
Have a nice day!
