Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello,

At 3 years of age a child passes well-formed solid poop...if it's not then something may not be going right. At age of 3 child should be eating from the family pot (meaning whatever the parents eat).

A balanced diet with fruits, vegetables and dairy (milk not more than 400ml/day) with proteins, carbohydrates and enough water is beneficial. A stool analysis has to done to rule out any malabsorptions in the child.

Few occasions, constipation too leads to watery stools and rarely potty training if stressful for a child can lead to constipation. Kindly see a pediatrician before you might feel your child isn't ready for poop training.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prafulla Srinivas
