What Is The Treatment For Pain And Difficult Urination?

I have stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to my spine and liver. I have not been able to have a bowel movement in 2 weeks despite taking laxatives like crazy. It has been difficult to urinate but now I cannot at all. It feels like I have to go badly then nothing comes out but I have excruciating pain. Is there anything I can do tonight at home to enable urination? It is getting to the point I cannot handle the pain anymore.

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for query .
Based on the symptoms that you have you have mostly developed acute retention of urine may be due to Enlarged Prostate .

Looking at the agony you are going through I would suggest you to go to ER and catheterization done to empty your bladder .

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis.

You may need to keep indwelling catheter to empty your bladder till he decides modality of treatment .
