What Is The Treatment For Pain , Numbness And Red Dots In The Thumb?

I fell hard on my thumb while roller skating. Its painful, getting numb, and has red dots below the surface of the skin and I think it s blood. It s slightly swollen, but not bleeding. What s the problem with it and what do I do? How long will this persist?

Thanks for your query.

It might be soft tissue injury or fracture.
Without X-ray, it is difficult to differentiate a fracture from others. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance.
In the interim,apply ice packs to the affected area,anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid lifting and rest well.
