What Is The Treatment For Painful Bruise In The Shin?

I hit my shin while on vacation and got an enormous goose egg on it. I applied ice off an on and it finally went down quite a bit after a couple of hours. I still have a raised bump and a bruise. The skin is yellowish around the bruise and is tender to the touch but much better than it was 2 weeks ago, which is when the injury occurred. Did I hit a nerve or did I injure the bone (fracture)?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thanks for seeking help on your issue; I have gone through your symptoms, and in my opinion, the chances of having a bone injury or a nerve injury are highly unlikely, but still I would advise you to get an x ray done of your leg and knee joint. continue analgesics, and keep moving your knee to the full range of its movement. keep it elevated when at rest or if swelling develops.
I hope I have been able to provide you with a satisfactory solution, if you want to clear any doubts about my opinion, feel free to contact.
Special note- Any medication prescribed needs to be taken after consultation with your personal doctor only.
Thanks
Dr. Narender Saini
