What Is The Treatment For Painful Chest, Cough And Discomfort In Lungs Due To GERD?
while eating some chips i experienced pain in ther middle of my chest as if the food was stuck.
This lasted until the next day. I tried stretching hoping to dislodge the afood. I coughed and it did not seem to budge. I tried to drink some water only to then have it come back up but did not unlodge the food. I did not sleep much that night and was fearful that it discomfort my radiate to my lungs, which it did not.
around 8 am I began to cough more and pieces of the chips were brought up. After a couple more hours more and more was coughed up. I have had this before and asked my doctors but they did not think it was anything to worry about. This was much worse than before and I was quite aanxious about it. I do have GERD.

This episode of coughing out pieces of chips one day after is not due to GERD as in GERD the food particles are acted by gastric secretion and would have digested in a day. So I advice you to get done one endoscopy which will help to visualize the reason behind your problem and the management will be based on that. Till then have plenty of fluids and antiemetic drugs like domperidone. This will help you.
