What Is The Treatment For Rashes And Bumps On Lower Lip And Cold?
Last week I had a bit of a cold, and woke up with a weird rash on the inside of my lower lip. There were hundreds of these tiny clear bumps. It wasn't painful, but very annoying. It cleared up after 3 days. Since then, however, I have noticed that the area feels very dry, and seems to be exacerbated when I eat/drink hot things, chew gum, and after I brush my teeth.
This is really troubling me! I've never experienced anything like this before. What could be causing this?
Seems you had an episode of herpes labialis (fever blisters, cold sores).
It is caused by herpes virus(HSV type 1 usually). It can cause recurrent eruptions of grouped clear vesicles in response to fever, stress, mensturation, strong sun exposure etc.
Treatment of an episode is by Oral acyclovir. Application of a topical mupirocin ointment prevents secondary infection.
take care
