What Is The Treatment For Red Splotches All Over My Child's Body?
my 3.5 year old son has broke out with a rash. It is splotches all over his body with some raised spots within the redness. He probably has a total of 10 spots on his body. He has a cold/cough for the past several days and had a fever of not over 99.8, although he doesn't have a fever now. First signs of the spots were around lunch today. Since WEdnesday, we have given him a generic form of childrens Mucinex cough. He isn't allergic to anything and doesn't take medication on a regular basis.
There could be several causes for that rash. One of the various causes is allergy. Micro bleeds into the skin because of low plate let count or because of conditions like HSP can also cause such problem. A physical examination is required to identify the etiology. Based the physical examination findings further investigations are required which may include platelet count, CBC etc. I suggest you to consult your doctor for the same with out any delay.
Continue to ask further queries as required. Hope this helps. Take care.
