What Is The Treatment For Stomach Infection And Sore Throat In A 2 Year Old?
My son's age is 2 year old and weighs around 13 kg. He recently got hospitalised twice a times in the month of August 2011 with severe throat and stomach infection and treated with strong antibiotics. Now, his appetite is very low. He just takes 1 and 1/2 butter bread in the morning at 11'0 clock with one slice of full apple and then take milk at 1'0 clock with two scoops of pediasure. At 5'0 clock, he takes one cucumber and some nuts and with lots of efforts he takes one roti at 7'0 clock. In the night, he again takes 1 bottle milk with two scoops of pediasure. Most of the times, he alos takes 1 bottle in the midnight with Laktrum Power (suggested by Pediatrician) at 4'0 clock.
I am very tensed, his appetitite is very low and his weight is now stable at 13 kg for the last 3 months.
My doctor has suggested him to give longifene 3 ml 2 times in a day.
Thanks for the query. As you told you have given him the antibiotics for sore throat and stomach infection i hope he is not having any fever now. Loss of appetite can be caused by a variety of conditions and diseases. Some of the conditions can be temporary and reversible, such as loss of appetite from the effects of medications. You can give syrup longefene as advised by your pediatrician for improving his appetite also reduce bread and milk intake which will also help for improving appetite. Hope i helped you.
