What Is The Treatment For Urinary Tract Infection?
Taking cipro for a uti. After 6 days of treatment, my urine is still cloudy, still have urgency to urinate, slight burning towards the end of emptying bladder. The last few uti s I had, I was prescribed 5 days of cipro, they all cleared up, no problem. This uti is different: Ithe previous few uti s I had, I only had foul smelling, cloudy urine. No pain or burning or discomfort. One dose of cipro cleared my urine up. I m thinking it s much more serious this time. Any insight.
Your findings may suggest urinary tract infection(UTI). UTI is indicated by cloudy urine, urgency and burning sensation during urination. Repeated UTI may be due to inadequate antibiotics etc.
You need proper clinical examination and routine investigations. Investigations include routine hemogram, random blood sugar, renal function test, ultrasound of abdomen, urine culture/sensitivity.
Proper antibiotics should be based upon culture and sensitivity report. Nitrite test and leukocyte esterase test can be done for confirmation of urinary tract infection. Drink plenty of water. I also suggests alkalyzing syrups to my patients.
