What Is The Treatment Of Appetite Loss ?

My son, who is 20 has been unable to eat properly for a few weeks. He was drinking protein drinks for a week but was not able to eat much with those drinks and now he can barely eat at all. He feels hungry but when he gets the food, he can barely eat a couple of mouthfuls. He is particularly unable to bare the look and smell of beef.

It sounds like your son may have some sort of gastrointestinal issue. Becoming full after only eating a few bites is called "early satiety" and it can be related to many different conditions. I would also be concerned that maybe your son is trying to diet and is eating very little amounts of food on purpose. Try to prepare high calorie, high protein meals and snacks such as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, soups with a cream base, milkshakes using whole milk, etc. However, without knowing his health history it is hard to determine the exact cause of his appetite loss.
