I am 50 years old and since last friday I have this rug burn sensation on my left back shoulder. I don t know where it s coming from? The pain is still the same from day one until now. I put Aspercreme at night to numb it so I can get a better sleep. Please advise.

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to Trapezitis. The insertion of the Trapezius muscle is around that area and spasm of the muscle may lead to such symptoms.

Using hot water fermentation and doing static neck exercise should help reduce the symptoms. Also, some myofascial release for the Trapezius muscle to release spasm is required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
