What Is The Treatment Recommended For A Fatty Liver?

my friend's child has been told t have a mild persistently elevated SGOT/SGPT since last 1 year with no past history of jaundice. Recently done ultrasound scan of abdomen has revealed a fatty liver;the child is a not an obesce child and he seems to b normal without any complaints. kindly opine.what do we do?

Hi...asymptomatic fatty liver need not be treated. It doesn't warrant any medications. But it needs follow up. I suggest you be in regular follow up with your pediatrician or pediatric gastroenterologist.
