What Makes A Child Crying ?

sick baby
I have a 3.5 month old that is normally very happy hardly ever cries. today he was fine in the morning then he woke up from his nap and nursed at about 2:30. since about 4:30 he has been really upset crying almost non stop and won't nurse. if I hold him he will sleep but if I lay him down he gets really upset and it takes about 5 minutes to get him calmed down. he will wake up crying from time to time even when i am holding him which is also unusual for him. just wondering if he needs to be seen right away or if it can wait until morning and also what it could possibly be?

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.

What you are quoting is an inconsolable cry in an infant. it can be an ear infection or an acute otitis media or an acute Central nervous system infection or a colic. I suggest you see your pediatrician immediately.
