What Measures Should Be Taken After Swallowing Floor Cleaner?

Doctor, my neighbour had swallowed a large quantity of Lysol floor cleaner yesterday night. She was immediately made to drink huge quantity of water and was made to vomit repeatedly. What other measures should be taken? How dangerous could this be in the long run?

Hello. Thank you for posting your query.
If you consume floor cleaner by accident, it can be a serious life-threatening condition since it can cause metabolic acidosis, can lead to liver failure, and in some cases encephalopathy. It is better to take her to the ER to get the blood tests done, just to make sure everything is fine with her. It can even act as an irritant and lead to problems like esophagitis. I appreciate you helped her and made her vomit immediately, but it is advisable to take her to the ER. The effects are all short term, and nothing can happen in long run.
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards
