What Medication Is Suggested For Cough And Chest Infection?

hi my son is of 4 years,he cought by chest infecton v.frequently,just14 days before he finish his antibiotic course for chest infection.now he has cold,cough(no weazing sound)low grade fever every 7 hourly from last 5 days.is this viral infecton?is this will subside itself or i have to start antibiotics again?

Hi Dear
Welcome to the HCM.
Recurrent RTI are quite common in children. some times six to 12 times in a year.
Improve his immunity with high protein diet. supplementation with multivitamin iron syrup.Vitamin D and zinc also to be supplemented.
Exposure from the infected child should be avoided. Like in school ,peer group If they are having some signs of viral infection your child should not come in contact with them.
Antihistaminic and decongestant medicines to be given along with paracetamol.
Montleukast to be added for long time.
