What Medication Is Suggested For Passing Of Loose Stools?

May baby is a 6 month old and he has loose bowel movement (yellowish in color, non-foul smelling) after giving him formula milk. He had already 8 episodes within 24 hours. His stool exam shows presence of pus cells. He is afebrile, active, alert, playful. No vomiting and abdominal pain. With good appetite. No signs of dehydration. What causes these signs and symptoms? What is the management?

He is taking Amoxicillin and Phenyephrine Chlorphenamine Maleate for his colds. A doctor prescribed Metronidazole for his diarrhea.

- Stop providing formula milk .
- Maintain hydration with breast milk and other liquids as lemon juice ,
butter milk , rice water , dal water .
- Stop giving amoxicillin at present .
- Addition of zinc syrup with metronidazole will recover early .
