What Medication Is Suggested For Swelling And Bruise On The Knee?

Hi, I am a 22 year old female with celiac disease. I fell on my knee about a year and a half ago, and have been experiencing pain in it a lot recently. I went for a hike a few months ago and my knee swelled and there was bruising all around the knee cap. Is it possible that my fall (directly on the knee cap) might have dislocated my patella? Thanks!

Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to the injury. To confirm that there is a dislocation of the patella I suggest to do an X-ray of the knee. Meanwhile, I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the swelling. I also suggest using cold compresses.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
