Hi

You have not mentioned about the age of your daughter. Is this the first time that she has the severe head ache?
I would wish to know the details of the tests done. What medication was given?

Usually in migraine, it is one sided, associated with phobia for light, noise etc. Usually kids vomit and after which there would be relief in the headache. Usually family history of migraine is seen. But yes there are atypical types seen too.

Usually Paracetamol in adequate dose is the first line treatment for headache.
If one is sure that it is due to migraine, we can use Mefenamic acid/ Ibuprofen too in the right dosage for relieving the pain. In kids usually other migraine relievers like ergot are not used generally.

Please speak to your doctor again.
If headache persists to be severe, if it is associated with forceful vomiting etc, it is better to consider brain imaging (M.R.I) to rule out any major issues.

Hope my answer helps you.
Please do get back with all details in case you need further assistance.
Best wishes.
