What S Causing Severe Neck And Muscle Pain Under The Back Shoulder Blade When There Is Neither Bone/ Nerve Issues?

I have been taking simvastatin 20mg for over 7yrs, 5yrs ago, I was feeling severe neck pain, and muscle pain under my back shoulder blade. This would happen three months or 6months at a time, I would just wake up and my neck would be stiff on the left side and severe nerve pain in my left arm, it would go away, as I see when the muscle under my back should blade the swelling is reduced. I have done MRI for the neck and seen a neck specialist, there are no bone issues, i have seen a nerve specialist no nerve issues, this leads me to a muscle swelling and pressing on the nerves. I am leaning toward the simvastatin. I would like to stop the simvastatin. I have talked with my doctor, but she just wants to treat the symptons, I want to stop the cause. Any suggestions?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
If the bone and nerve related issues have been ruled out then the likely cause of pain can be related to muscles, tendons and other soft tissues that can be detected on an MRI scan.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
