Hello,
Persistent pain like this needs a more thorough evaluation. Avoid prolonged slouching or twisting, maintain good posture while sitting, walking or sleeping. Apply warm compresses instead of constant topical gels, it will be helpful. Do gentle walking in the morning and evening to improve circulation. Get connected to a physical therapist to do stretching and posture correction.
Breathing exercises can help rib cage and intercostal muscles heal. Vitamin D or B12 deficiency can cause muscle pain. Include natural form of B12 in your daily diet and expose yourself to sunlight in the morning hours. You can take supplements.
Get clinically examined by a GP, get all required tests like CK, CRP,
thyroid function tests, tests for vitamin D, B12, calcium, magnesium done to detect
costochondritis, fibromyalgia, nerve related issues, etc. If needed you will be referred to a
rheumatologist (for autoimmune /
muscle inflammation causes) and a
neurologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
