What Should I Do About The Recurring Pain In The Middle Of My Rib Cage, Lasting 3-4 Days, While Using Ketamine?
Hi i am 19 years old and have been on ketamine since I was 16 I am suffering with pain just in the middle of my rib cage I cannot cope with the pain I was cramped down hovering over the toilet being sick all day I get these pains now and then and they last 3 to 4 days what do I do because I need some help please?
You’re 19. Your body can heal, but not if this continues. Every flare-up is a warning. It will get worse if left untreated. You are advised to go to ER; this is not the time to stay at home. Tell them openly about your ketamine use; they are there to help you. You will be treated with IV fluids, and pain management medications will be given. You will be given medications to soothe your symptoms.
You will have to go through a few blood tests, liver and pancreas function tests (LFTs, amylase/lipase), urine tests (to rule out bladder/kidney damage). If required, an abdominal ultrasound or CT scan may be done. Get all tests and investigations done so that treatment can be started at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Nupur K., General & Family Physician
