What Should I Do As Having Pain In Throat While Swallowing?

For about 5 days I've had pain in the upper right side of my head but only when I swallow. The muscles in my throat are also sore and the pain seems to travel from my throat to just behind my right ear and up to the upper right side of my head. I feel fine, not sick or anything, just the pain when I swallow. Any ideas?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query throat pain while swallowing which could be due to upper respiratory tract infection. It could be due to tonsils gets enlarged due to bacterial infection due to which you cannot swallow saliva and giving you symptoms of strep throat. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take tablet Sinarest at for three days along with Cetirizine at night time. For relief of throat pain take Calpol. Do warm saline gargles. Avoid hot, sharp and spicy foods. Your symptoms will start resolving, if symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Start proper antibiotic course after thorough examination. Take lukewarm water with turmeric dissolved in it. Avoid cold carbonated beverages.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
