What Should I Do If My Child S Fever Persists After Taking Crocin DS And Meftal Spas, Despite Sponging?

Hi, my 11 year old daughter, 40 kg is suffering from high fever. It s been 24 hrs. Her fever is not settling after crocin ds. I gave her crocin ds first but no improvement so I gave meftal after 3 hrs. The fever went down for 2 hrs and after 3 hrs she again has very high fever of 103.2. I m doing sponging. The temperature is not going down. What should I do. Last dose of meftal spas was given before 4 and a half hrs. Crocin ds- 12 ml I have given Neftal spas-12.5 ml I have given

Hi,

I think that you should see your doctor for the specific diagnosis and treatment accordingly, as many a times, the fever is not self resolving, without treatment of the specific etiology. In the meanwhile, you can apply cold water sponges on forehead, besides use of anti-fever drugs.
