What Should Be Done For Back Pain Caused By Falling?
My 87 year old mother had a fall. 2 sets of x-rays. No broken hip or pelvis. She has been in the hospital for 4 weeks now with no improvement. Still pain level is 10 out of 10. I can t seem to connec to with her doctor so I do not know the course of actions here. I m getting extremely frustrated with the nurses. I am tempted to take her to another hosptial if possible. What do you suggest?
Pain from fall takes some time to heal. I would suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon once for your satisfaction. In the meanwhile do following things: > Apply oil on her back & massage twice a day. > Am sure hospital is giving good pain killer (analgesics) so i would not add anything to it. > Take hot water in a rubber bottle and place it over her back. It will give soothing effect. > Consult a physiotherapist for exercises that will relax her muscles.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. Wishing her good health.
