What Should Be Done For Bloody Bowel Movement And Abdominal Swelling After A Neck Surgery?

I’m 12 days postoperative. Had neck surgery. Finally had 2 major bowel experiences. Yesterday I had 2 episodes of bright red bloody bowel issues. Both uncontrollable. Last night my stomach started swelling. I’ve tried lots of things to get the gas out. This morning my stomach is still swollen. I literally look 6 months pregnant. I’m still trying to do the right things. If I don’t find relief soon I’m heading to urgent care when it opens. I need advice.

Hi,

It may be due to hemorrhoid or polyps or upper GI bleeding.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Stress ulcers may cause upper GI bleed.

Take a high fiber diet along with that avoid spicy and oily food.

If symptoms not improved please consult your surgeon, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
