What Should Be Done For Nausea, Dizziness And Chest Pain While On Losartan, Amlodipine And Atenolol?
I am taking three blood pressure meds, losartan potassium 100mg, amlodipine besylate 5m, and atenolol 25m. The amlodpine in the morning, others at bedtime. losartan was increased from 50mg to 100mg last week. Over a period of a fews I began to feel nauseous, light headed and chest pains, before bedtime last night I took my pressure. it was 150 over 50 so I didn t take any of the nightime meds. I think the timing of doses must be off or something. any suggestions to talk with my doctor about?email YYYY@YYYY
According to your description, it seems that your diastolic blood pressure is lower and systolic is higher. Please check it again as this is not usually seen. If dizziness is felt only while getting up from bed or during a change in position from sitting to standing then I think you need to stop Amlodipine as it may cause postural hypotension.
However do not do that by yourself, consult your treating physician, check blood pressure twice and then think about stopping or changing the medication.
Other advice - take low salt and fat diet. Do regular aerobic exercise.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
