What Should Be Taken For Sore Throat, Severe Cough And Vomiting?

Hi, my son is 18 and began with a sore throat yesterday, with a lot of sticky, thick mucus and coughing. Three times in the last 24 hours he has coughed hard enough to start vomiting. With the first episode of vomiting he began a headache. Just now I took his temperature and he is running 101.5 F fever and has body aches. Thank you.

Hello,

The symptoms of your son seem to be relieve to a viral infection. I recommend to give him Tylenol for the fever. I also suggest to use a mucolytic for the cough such as Mucinex. I recommend to drink liqudis, eat healthy and rest. The symptoms will probably relieve in a few days.
